A Hungarian traditional dessert that has been a regular in our family during the Christmas Season for many decades is Nut Roll. I remember having it when I was little when Grandma Ditchcreek made it, the tradition continued with my mom making it and now it is time for me to continue it on. The Hungarian version has a minced walnut filling with a nice soft bread and flaky crust that is glazed with egg yolk for a nice yellow shine with a sprinkle of sugar. Nowadays, Nut Roll is a rarity to find and eat any more but it still lives so if you ever find it or make the effort to make it, it is a worthwhile dessert to enjoy and even start to have as a family tradition for the holidays.

Nut Roll was a logo I decided to completely make from scratch. What I mean by that is all text was designed instead of using a font for the lettering. I created a bold lettering with a unique kind of serif font style. Additionally, I added a Nut Roll symbol that replaced the “o” in “Roll” so that the logo had a visual representation of the dessert.
