Gobs

GobsAnother holiday favorite in my family but this time came from my aunt is Gobs. Of course, Gobs is also known in many areas as Whoopie Pies but we always called them Gobs so sticking with our naming. Our traditional Gob was your two chocolate cookies ends with a white vanilla filling but I decided to take it a little bit farther. Instead of just one filling flavor I decided to up it to three different filling flavors: Vanilla, Chocolate and Peanut Butter (in the picture it goes Peanut Butter at the top, Chocolate in the middle and Vanilla at the bottom). With the three flavors, I would say my favorite is the Peanut Butter but all are a wonderful treat!

Every logo I try to do something a little different so I don’t have very similar looking logos, variety is important when it comes to graphic design. For Gobs, the logo layout was that of a page that consist of a page border and main content. The page border was given a simple design with a clear inner side on the left and edge side on the right. Then for the main content, the title “Gobs” was given a handwritten font and paired with a silhouette symbol of a Gob.

About the Author

Born and raised in Hebron, IN located in Northwest Indiana, I am a designer with focus on graphic and web design for my career. I graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science with my focus being graphic/web design. In work, I have had experiences in both food service and web design that have help define the person I am along with what I have a passion for in life. I always strive to improve the person I am, to help and support others, and enjoy the simple things in life.

Home cooking has always been a part of my life and has fueled my love of food and cooking. Cooking comes from my grandmother’s side which was Hungarian that was carried on by my mother and then I choose to continue that tradition. As I grew up, cooking became one of my main hobbies to explore new recipes, ingredients, and cooking techniques. Finding the next great recipe is a consist search that I enjoy be it looking in cookbooks, checking out food magazines, or browsing online. Be it Italian, Mexican, and other cuisines, when it comes to my some of my favorite recipes it is nothing for me to enjoy that dish for days until there is none left. Also, I tend to love my dairy products the most be it milk, cheeses, yogurts, and especially ice cream; glad I was never lactose intolerant since I probably would have never survived.

With my passion for designing and cooking, I decided to combine those passions into this blog website called Cook. Photo. Eat. Design. I start where I cook a recipe I like, take photos of the dish, eat it of course since you can’t let great food go to waste, and create an image using the photos with design elements like logo creation or photo editing. Please enjoy learning about food and design, Cook. Photo. Eat. Design. is just to have fun and share my passions.
